Inception #atozchallenge

Inception (2010) is one of the ultimate dream movies.   The film is about dreams and dream researchers and nearly all of action takes place in dreams.   Many of the dream sequences are very effective because they so realistically present dream scenarios.  The theories presented about dreaming are also very credible and probably based on actual dream research.

For the sake of coherence and continuity there is a story that is easy to follow.  The story may still be confusing to some viewers, but the basic action makes sense unlike most of our dreams.   In the end we are left to wonder what is real and what is a dream.    If you're interested in dreams and have never seen Inception, this film might be well worth your time.

Have you seen Inception?   Should dreams in a movie have a ongoing interconnecting story that is essentially logical?    Do you think it may one day be possible to enter and influence the dreams of another person?

  1. I have not yet seen Inception (I don't get much grown up movie time) but it is definitely on my list. Dreams have always fascinated me and I would love to see a film version of someone else's interpretation of the subconscious mind!

  3. I loved Inception when it came out and couldn't stop thinking about it for the longest time!
As for the last question...being able to influence other people's dreams is just creepy to me. Ha! Let's leave that to the movies.

  5. WTF-- I remember those days of kid friendly films all the time. It was fun.

JoJo -- Yes, I'm starting to think you need to watch some more movies.

Christy -- Dream tampering would be scary, but dream visiting or sharing might be fun.

ST-- It's time for me to see it again.

  8. I really liked Inception. Actually I want to see it again because it leaves you with that feeling of needing to see it again... Have you seen Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts in "Conspiracy Theory?" It too, has a dream like quality to it especially in the sequences where his brain is being messed with... One of my favs.

  9. I too need to go back to watch Inception. I recall seeing Conspiracy Theory but don't really remember it. Another one I should revisit.
