Dreamscape (1984) is a bit of a fun ride for dream fans as well as science fiction buffs. The story centers on activity at a psychic research center. Certain individuals who have developed an ability to transfer themselves into dreams are used to help patients overcome the horrible nightmares that plague them. One of the patients happens to be the President of the United States.
This film has some interesting dream sequences that are quite well done. Combine this with political intrigue and spooky action and you have an engaging film. The story is decent, but for me the dream action is the real highlight of this film.
Have you seen Dreamscape? Would you like to have an ability to enter into someone else's dreams? Do you think dreams have the power to severely affect a person's ability to function in waking life?
I've never seen it. But I have had dreams that will stay with me all day, esp. if they were bad/upsetting and that will affect my mood.
ReplyDeleteI dont think I have seen that movie. I hate when I have dreams that are realistic and affect my mood negatively all day while I constantly remind myself it was a dream
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments JoJo and Andrea! The negative moods are not all that great, but do you ever have a wonderful beautiful dream that lifts you up to give you a brighter day. Those are the best ones.

I love Dreamscape. Saw it several times.
ReplyDeleteI especially like when I dream about family members who are no longer with us. After those dreams I usually wake up feeling good.
Okay, I have to look this up because I LOVE Dennis Quaid! I watched the trailer on youtube and even though it looks very "dated" I'd like to see it. I remember my dreams a lot and think we have dreams to help us process our days with our subconscious. I'm LOVING this theme Arlee!!!!!
