On My Way Home

I'm not sure where to say I am when this posts.   I may be on my way home or I may be home--at least my mother's house, a place that feels like home to me.   There's a special feeling about visiting the places of younger day.  Somehow having the music of that time accompanying those visits seems appropriate.

Is there certain music you associate with the places of your younger days?   When you visit those places do you tend to listen to any of that music?

I'm Only Dreaming

Sometimes my dreams are so special, so wonderful that I am disappointed to find that I'm only dreaming.   Waking up from those dreams can be such a let down and yet waking life must go on.  Then there are those daydreams.    Are they a waste of time?

Do you ever wake from a dream that you wish was real?     Are you a daydreamer?   Do you think daydreaming is a frivolous waste of time?

Technicolor Dreams

Some say they only dream in black and white, while others say they dream in color.   My dreams are definitely in color.    I'm a big fan of black and white movies, but I'd hate for my world to only be in black and white.

Do you dream in color?    Does color ever play a specific role in your dreams?   Do your dreams consist of highly defined visual images or are they more vague and shadowy?

What To Do? It's in the Music

Here's a spacey dreamy song from 1975.  I used to just lay back in a reverie listening to this song when I was living in a cabin in the mountains.   I think this is a beautiful melancholy song that my mind can drift along with.   The fantasy artwork images on the video are pretty dreamlike too.

Are there times when you're just not sure where you're going in life or what you should do?    Does music bring out the best in you and keep you company?

Please Hold and Enjoy the Music

In the previous post I pondered about the options that were before me concerning this underperforming blog.   I have come to a decision.   I have decided to postpone making a decision and let this blog stay on hold for the summer.

Since I'll be traveling for several weeks and my internet time will be sporadic, I'm going to find ways to limit my blogging presence so as not to feel a need to do too much networking for the purpose of promoting blog posts.  I'll continue to make every attempt to respond to any comments my blogs receive and I'll will do my best to reciprocate comments--something that I haven't been doing very well at as it is.

For this blog I'll resort to the old standby of posting videos.  Visitors here will still find weekly activity in the form of my music pick for that week.   The clips may be dreamy, about dreams, or music that makes me think of dreams.   You can stop by each week for a dose of dream music and let me know what you think.

It's kind of a cop out I know.   In a way I'd compare my tactic to those phone answering services that put you on hold and have music playing while you wait.   Hopefully my choices in music will be better than some of that hold music we have to listen to sometimes.

So my first song doesn't have much to do with dreams, but it seems appropriate to what's happening:

If you can't stay for the summer, I hope you'll come back in September to see where A Faraway View will be going next.
