The previous post looked at the famous dwarf dream sequence from the David Lynch television show Twin Peaks. Below is a clip that parodies that sequence. The clip comes from the 1995 comedy Living In Oblivion starring Steve Buscemi. The dwarf actor is Peter Dinklage who can currently be seen in HBO's Game of Thrones. Be warned that the clip contains profanity, but it is quite funny.
If you enjoyed the clip and would like to watch the entire hilarious sequence, I've included this clip as well.
This might just be whetting your interest in seeing the entire film, which is a film that I can recommend for very funny adult viewing. Steve Buscemi is one of my favorite actors and this film is one of his best roles.
Have you seen Living In Oblivion? Have you ever had a dream with a dwarf in it? Dreams are strange, but do you think many film dream sequences actually capture the feel of a real dream?

I've never had dwarfs or giants in my dreams.
ReplyDeleteNever actually had dwarfs in my dreams.
ReplyDeleteI think certain films are quite naive in depicting dreams, dreams material, and stuff. Yet, many works of art have been made after an inspirational dream. Right off the top of my head, I can think of Queen's "The Prophet Song", which was made after a dream had by Brian May.
"Inception", as a movie on dreams, left me flabbergasted for the accuracy and the complexity of its themes. And they had to drag me to see it!
I too have never had dwarfs in my dreams. I don't like the dreams I do get though.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Dwarfs, Yikes! If I start dreaming about dwarfs, I may never fall asleep again.
ReplyDeleteI've never had a dwarf in my dream but I've had a giant. It chased me and scared the heck out of me!
ReplyDeleteHey Lee! I've never dreamed about dwarves, but back when I was in film school our whole class watched Living in Oblivion and it was fantastic! The best comedy about making movies that I've ever seen...and I love Steve Buscemi! I think he's great also in Fargo and The Big Lebowski.
ReplyDeleteOne of the best dream sequences I've seen in a movie was in Papillion with Steve McQueen. It freaked me right out!
Also, speaking of The Big Lebowski, there was a great one in there too, with Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore in the bowling alley...I'll have to re-watch that one soon!
I need to see Living in Oblivion again soon too!
Thanks Lee, this has lifted my spirits!
