I've since seen parts of it, but really was left with a feeling of disappointment, which I often am when seeing a film that doesn't seem to have a point to it, a beginning, middle and end. I think I'll have to watch it again now... QT is confusing to me as a director. I couldn't stand the Kill Bills either, but loved Inglorious Bastards. I liked Crash, as a movie filmed out of sync. It seemed to have a purpose to it, which for me, Pulp Fiction lacked. I'll go revisit it!Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06658507579160418855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4020898804375958182.post-5138933457691306682014-04-19T07:55:00.626-07:002014-04-19T07:55:00.626-07:00sdk--- I'm surprised that you'd prefer Dja...sdk--- I'm surprised that you'd prefer Django Unchained over Pulp Fiction. The former was so graphically violent and gory to the extreme--very cartoony, but good. The latter I thought was far more intelligent with a more interesting framing device for the story. I'm no big Uma fan either, but she's okay. The hype was probably what made me so disappointed in Pulp Fiction initially, but after I started thinking about it on my own I started seeing its merits.

C.Lee--There is a sharp divide on this film. If I had stayed with my initial reaction and seen it only once I would probably be in the "I didn't like it" crowd. It's a film that calls for at least a second viewing.

Lee

Arlee Birdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11663942782929929334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4020898804375958182.post-75123817486975005862014-04-19T07:46:27.318-07:002014-04-19T07:46:27.318-07:00This film evokes some strong opinions, which to me...This film evokes some strong opinions, which to me says it has something going for it. Every day films get comments like, "I enjoyed it." "It was okay."

I haven't seen it, but I'll have to give it a try after reading this.cleemckenziehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15456109243453726483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4020898804375958182.post-41028965912838508862014-04-19T02:20:36.938-07:002014-04-19T02:20:36.938-07:00I hate Pulp Fiction with a passion. I dont buy into hype about films and this was such a case. I also dont like Uma Thurman. Not a good blend for me.

Inglorious Basterds was rubbish bar two brilliant scenes. Your review is very good but it doesnt change my mind about the film I'm afraid ;-)sdk_2010https://www.blogger.com/profile/09594631381637018271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4020898804375958182.post-27435626598439926462014-04-18T22:26:51.026-07:002014-04-18T22:26:51.026-07:00JoJo -- I guess you probably wouldn't like it,...JoJo -- I guess you probably wouldn't like it, but it is good.

Larry --Django Unchained was pretty good, but not a film I'd want to see in a theater where I was the only white guy. I liked the Nazi movie too. Tarantino has a knack of putting in funny scenes that are really somewhat inappropriate to laugh about--but still.

Susan K-- But the story telling is pretty clever.

Lee
Arlee Birdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11663942782929929334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4020898804375958182.post-30830871125117597332014-04-18T20:11:18.840-07:002014-04-18T20:11:18.840-07:00I saw clips of it, as I walked through the living ...I saw clips of it, as I walked through the living room, and my husband and son were watching it.

My son said, "Oh, Mom.
